ANNA A. FAUSTINO

Born and raised in St. Petersburg, Russia.

Achieved two Bachelor Degrees specializing in teaching,
art history and culture, painting, engineering, drawing,
and textile art.

Worked as a teacher for ten (10) years and for two (2) years
at the Kirov Opera and Ballet Theatre as a stage and costume
decorator.  Subsequently freelanced in artistry and knitting
sweaters with my own decorative designs.

Moved to the United States ten (10) years ago and for the past
two (2) years became involved in quilting.  To-date I have
completed 33 quilts.  Last year I developed my own technique
based on traditional and innovative quilting which I call
"shredded blocks."

In 2005 I exhibited at three judged Quilting Shows:

    1.  SHARING THE QUILTS XXII - Watchung, NJ
         Henry The VIII - took 1st Place in Portrait Category.
         Cheer Up Clown - took 1st Place in Applique Category.
         My Rooster Called Isy - received Honorable Mention.

    2.  OLD WORLD HISTORICAL SOCIETY
         School House Festival of Quilts - Wall, NJ
         Flamenco Dancer - took 1st Place

    3.  STATE QUILT GUILD OF NEW JERSEY - Edison, NJ
         Proud Feathers - took 1st Place in Applique Category.
         Henry The VIII - took 2nd Place in Applique Category.
         My Rooster Called Isy - took 1st Place for best use of colors.

In 2006:
    1.  MID-ATLANTIC QUILT FESTIVAL XVII
            On The Cutting Edge
            "Walk With Me" and "Henry VIII" were finalists
    2.  THE QUILT FEST OF NEW JERSEY
            A Garden State
            "Don't Bug Me" - finalist
    3.  INTERNATIONAL QUILT SHOW
            Celebrate Spring
            "Primavera" - finalist and transferred to the Houstin IQA
               show in October, 2006
    4.  AQS SHOW IN PADUCAH SPRING
            "I Did Not Do It" and "Proud Feathers" were both finalists
    5.  WORLD OF QUILTS XXVII
            "Flamenco Dance", "Disco", and "Eclipse" were all finalists
    6.  NJ QUILT CONVENTION
            "Golden Treasure", "Disco", "Flamenco Dance",
            "View From My Window", "On Top Of The Quilted World"
               were all finalists

Recently "My Rooster Called Isy" was accepted as a finalist for
the International Quilting Show in Houston, TX.
